The PSOE in Cieza is opposed to water from the Segura River go to Mazarrón and ÁguilasEl PSOE de Cieza se opone a que el agua del rio Segura vaya a Mazarrón y Águilas

El Gorgoton Calasparra

The PSOE in Cieza has sent a press release in which manifested that August 25 BORM appeared public exposure of catchment of waters of the Calasparra Syncline application file. According to this record, is being processed a request for irrigation communities of Aguilas and Mazarron request for acquisition of a volume 9 ‘ 5 annual cubic Hectometers, for a period of seven years, of groundwater in the syncline of Calasparra, owned by the Board of user North of la Vega del Segura, in the town of Cieza. Water requested would be targeted for agricultural irrigation of farms located in Mazarrón and Águilas belonging to known landowners according to the Socialist note.

The ‘Gorgoton’ is powered by the syncline of Calasparra

In this situation, the PSOE has submitted a document in which it expressed its total opposition to the continuation of the referenced file, «since he has no» sense request the extraction of 9’5 hm3 in the syncline to Eagles or Mazarrón farms while the desalination of Eagles and Valdelentisco, and understanding that, to exploit water from those wells, would be needed before a decree of the Ministry of agriculture drought.

Ensuring sources of this political formation that prospects will again give a cycle of drought are real, so consider this more necessary that never preserve the waters of the syncline to secure the immediate future of the water needs of both of the traditional irrigation systems as the supply of the population.

Thus the things, the PSOE announces that he will defend that the water of the syncline «remains at the disposal of the ciezanos and areas and, ultimately, the farmers of Cieza».

Also requests the City Council which defend the interests of the city and «abandon this attitude of passivity before the attempt to plunder water wells that belong to us.» As we know, in the water area, the PP has based its policy in the forgotten phrase ‘Water for all’, criticize the desalination plants put up by Socialist Governments and in the invention of the public body of water, through which, said that water would in tubes that would be stored in tanks of Ascoy, which served to justify the viability of urban developments that did not have water resources in the PGMO of Cieza. «Against these inventions, from the PSOE we observe that, in our region, we now have more water thanks to the desalination plants and in what regards to Cieza, we are going to defend to the last consequences that exist in the municipality water resources remain at the service of its inhabitants.»
