The last weekend the Association Columbares carried out cleaning the beaches of Las Cobaticas and the head of the match, and the environmental restoration of the latter, within its project of environmental volunteering in the Bay of Mazarrón entitled «Go you». 46 Volunteers from the school «Antonio Nebrija» of Murcia, Mazarron «Friends of nature» hiking Club, as well as several volunteers from the Association Columbares participated in the activity.

 

Within the part dedicated to the cleaning, the participants retreated environment to half a ton of trash from the beaches. In addition, volunteers planted nearly 300 plant species within the second part of this action. The plants belonged to various native varieties such as tarays, salted, cuernecillos of sea, palms and pines carrasco which were watered by a tanker truck that had prepared the Town Hall, regenerating so average environmentally the fight Cabezo beach.

 

The Association Columbares continue activities in the town during the next few weeks. Specifically intended that on November 23 this partnership delivers a talk at the Popular University of Mazarrón (UPM) from 8 o’clock on the importance of preserving biodiversity, with particular emphasis on the richness of flora and fauna that exist in our municipality.

 

In addition, within the project «Go», framed in the beaches program, volunteer & custody of territory developed by the biodiversity Foundation and promoted by the Ministry of agriculture, food and environment, have been conducted a photographic workshop by the Bay of Mazarrón to photograph the geomorphology of the orographic landscapes, areas Virgin and areas of cliffs, as well as attacks and threats, occasionally comment on citizens.

 

The best pictures taken are being selected for the creation of an exhibition ‘online’ who posted on the website of the Association Columbares, as well as in different premises of Mazarrón. Their goal, as well as the project, is the of involving the local population and tourists in conservation and environmental restoration of degraded areas, in order to preserve and protect the environment as natural heritage of all citizens.

El pasado fin de semana la Asociación Columbares llevó a cabo la limpieza de las playas de Las Covaticas y del Cabezo de la Pelea, y la restauración ambiental de esta última, dentro de su proyecto de voluntariado medio ambiental en la Bahía de Mazarrón titulado “Expláyate”. En la actividad participaron 46 voluntarios del Colegio “Antonio Nebrija” de Murcia, del Club de Senderismo «Amigos de la Naturaleza» de Mazarrón, así como varios voluntarios de la propia Asociación Columbares.

Dentro de la parte dedicada a la limpieza, los participantes retiraron entorno a media tonelada de basura de las playas. Asimismo, los voluntarios plantaron casi 300 especies vegetales dentro de la segunda parte de esta acción. Las plantas pertenecían a diversas variedades autóctonas de la zona como tarays, salados, cuernecillos de mar, palmitos y pinos carrasco que fueron regadas gracias a un camión cisterna que dispuso el Ayuntamiento, regenerando así medio ambientalmente la playa del Cabezo de la Pelea.

La Asociación Columbares continuará realizando diversas actividades en el municipio durante las próximas semanas. Concretamente está previsto que el próximo viernes 23 de noviembre esta asociación ofrezca una charla en la Universidad Popular de Mazarrón (UPM) a partir de las 20 horas sobre la importancia de preservar la biodiversidad, haciendo especial hincapié en la riqueza de flora y fauna que existe en nuestro municipio.

Además, dentro del proyecto “Expláyate”, enmarcado en el programa Playas, Voluntariado y Custodia del Territorio desarrollado por la Fundación Biodiversidad y promovido por el ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente, se han llevado a cabo unas jornadas fotográficas por la Bahía de Mazarrón para fotografiar la geomorfología de los paisajes orográficos, las zonas vírgenes y zonas de acantilados, así como las agresiones y amenazas que, en ocasiones, comenten los ciudadanos.

Las mejores fotos realizadas están siendo seleccionadas para la creación de una exposición ‘online’ que se colgará en la página web de la Asociación Columbares, así como en diferentes locales de Mazarrón. Su objetivo, al igual que el del proyecto, es la de involucrar a la población local y turistas en la conservación y restauración ambiental de zonas degradadas, con el fin de preservar y proteger el medio ambiente como patrimonio natural de todos los ciudadanos.
