The Romería of the miracle of Bolnuevo brings together thousands of peopleLa Romería del Milagro de Bolnuevo reúne a miles de personas

The romeros have been able to taste the traditional moraga of sardines before the onset of rain.

The pilgrimage of the miracle has met one year to thousands of people who have accompanied the image of the immaculate conception to the chapel of Bolnuevo on a beautiful morning. Thousands of pilgrims, on foot, on horseback and by several carriages, have walked the 5 miles that separate Mazarrón in the popular village of fishermen where, upon arrival, have been able to taste the traditional moraga of sardines which the Commission of Fiestas of Bolnuevo has distributed among the attendees.

La Purísima, which a week ago could not perform their traditional stops because of the rain, was today able to visit without problems the population nucleus of Las Moreras and desalination plant in the community of irrigators of Mazarrón, where this has offered a lunch the pilgrims to regain forces halfway. Accompanying the Virgin has been the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for celebrations, Isidro Coy, and the Councillor for culture and tourism, María Celeste Soria.

According to Isidro Coy, some 70,000 people have passed this weekend by Bolnuevo to participate in these popular celebrations. Attendance at the pilgrimage of today, according to the Mayor, has around 50,000 citizens arrived, not only from all points of the municipality, but also from other parts of the Region and included a large number of foreign nationals. Once the image of La Purisima has reached his Hermitage and the moraga of sardines has distributed, the rain, which has threatened the holiday these past two days, has finally made an appearance. Something that the faithful have understood as truly a blessing from Heaven because he has respected the Virgin and his pilgrimage.
