Rubén García, Antonio Méndez, Juan Méndez, Marina Moreno were the honorees

 

El Ayuntamiento de Mazarron yesterday gave 4 athletes from Club Taekwondo Mazarrón plaudits for his professional career and recent achievements within this sport with the aforementioned mazarronero club. Juan Méndez, Rubén García, Antonio Méndez and Marina Moreno received congratulations from the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for sports, Andrés Valera, and the Mayor of citizen participation, David Fernandez, in a ceremony that was held in the Hall of plenary sittings of the Consistorial houses to various friends and family.

 

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, in addition to congratulating the athletes expressed her pride «have in our municipality to these outstanding athletes who not only get achievements at the regional level, but also at the national level and sometimes also at the international level». The Mayor highlighted the important work involving the sports municipal schools to train athletes like these and expressed the commitment of the Government team «to further promote sports practice supporting the municipality clubs and sports schools».

 

The coach’s Club Taekwondo Mazarrón, Pedro Alonso, accompanied by Chairman of the club, Angel Morales, thanked «acknowledging that he is the effort of the athletes in this way since these achievements behind carry a great effort», thanking them for the support provided both the Mazarrón City Hall, as the fathers and mothers of athletes. Alonso stressed that «this sport requires a great effort because we must maintain a certain weight and, as it grows, it is very difficult to maintain it» and encouraged «all Mazarrón athletes and their coaches to continue training them as people and athletes».

 

For his part, the Mayor from Deportes, Andrés Valera, noted sporting values represented in young people who were honored yesterday as «the desire to Excel, to the perseverance, self-discipline, responsibility, cooperation, honesty, loyalty, etc. Desirable qualities by all and that they can get through sport». Valera stressed also that this sport «is very ingrained in Mazarrón thanks to sportsmen like these and their successes are very envied across the region». Mayor Ginés Campillo and the delegate Councillor of sports delivered a few gifts to athletes after detailing the professional career and sports from each of these achievements.

El Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón brindó ayer un merecido reconocimiento a 4 atletas del Club Taekwondo Mazarrón por su trayectoria profesional y los últimos logros alcanzados dentro de esta modalidad deportiva con el citado club mazarronero. Juan Méndez, Rubén García, Antonio Méndez y Marina Moreno recibieron la felicitación del Alcalde de Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, el concejal de Deportes, Andrés Valera, y el edil de Participación Ciudadana, David Fernández, en un acto que se celebró en el Salón de Plenos de las Casas Consistoriales ante diversos amigos y familiares.

El Alcalde de Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, además de felicitar a los atletas expresó su orgullo por “tener en nuestro municipio a estos destacados deportistas que, no sólo consiguen logros a nivel regional, sino también en el ámbito nacional e incluso a veces también a nivel internacional”. El primer edil resaltó la importante labor que suponen las Escuelas Deportivas Municipales para formar a deportistas como éstos y expresó el compromiso del Equipo de Gobierno “para seguir fomentando la práctica deportiva apoyando a los clubes del municipio y las escuelas deportivas”.

El entrenador del Club Taekwondo Mazarrón, Pedro Alonso, acompañado de presidente del club, Ángel Morales, agradeció “que se reconozca el esfuerzo de los atletas de esta manera ya que estos logros llevan detrás un gran esfuerzo”, agradeciendo el apoyo que prestan tanto el Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón, como los padres y madres de los deportistas. Alonso destacó que “este deporte requiere un gran esfuerzo porque hay que mantener un peso determinado y, conforme se crece, es muy difícil mantenerlo” y animó “a todos los deportistas de Mazarrón y a sus entrenadores para seguir formándolos como personas y deportistas”.

Por su parte, el edil de Deportes, Andrés Valera, destacó los valores deportivos representados en los jóvenes que ayer fueron homenajeados como son “el afán de superación, al perseverancia, la autodisciplina, la responsabilidad, la cooperación, la honestidad, la lealtad, etc. Cualidades deseables por todos y que se pueden conseguir a través del deporte”. Valera resaltó también que este deporte “está muy arraigado en Mazarrón gracias a deportistas como estos y sus éxitos son muy envidiados en toda la Región”. El Alcalde Ginés Campillo y el concejal delegado de Deportes entregaron unos obsequios a los deportistas tras detallar la trayectoria profesional y logros deportivos de cada uno de ellos.
