The Department of Commerce of the City Council of Mazarrón has launched together with the Association of merchants of Mazarron and region (ACOMA) a campaign of collection of plastic plugs to help Eva Giménez Reinaldos, a lorquina girl of 5 years which, since its birth, suffers from a congenital brain injury. For this purpose, designed a poster that will look in the Windows of the shops associated with ACOMA where neighbors may deliver the plastic plugs that, subsequently, City Hall will pick up and move to the lorquina village of La Tercia, place in which are stored and where the company that recycles these plugs removed them for further processing in a plant of Palencia.

The councilman of Commerce explained that «there are more than 50 different types of plugs suitable for this type of recycling. David Fernandez has stressed that this initiative «we fulfill a dual purpose since, apart from collaborating in an act of solidarity, also we carry out a work of environmental responsibility. These plugs plastic is of great quality and recycling makes that we can save great amount of oil and energy, so we are also collaborating with the environment». The Councillor also pointed out that «this initiative is open to schools, companies and any type of establishment that wants to add» by contacting with the Department of Commerce.

Tapones Solidarios Eva Gimenez
