The participants got a total of 732 catches with a total weight of 46 kg
Rafael Solis Pardo was awarded the VIII Edition of the National Open of fishing «Bay of Mazarrón» held the evening of the last Saturday on the beaches of El Castellar in Puerto de Mazarron and Bolnuevo. The Open was developed as planned, under a perfect night for fishing, and with 82 fishermen in liza who enjoyed the test.
Most captured species were herreras and bogas, being the first species which more it prevailed in the Castellar Beach and the Bogue species that more entertained at Bolnuevo Beach fishermen. The champion, Rafael Solís, who is part of the «barbo» fishing Club, managed a total of 58 catches which upheld him atop the podium. The Councillor for sports of the Town Hall, Andrés Valera was present at the awards ceremony.
Teammate of club, Andres Jara Muñoz, ranked second, while third place on overall went to José Angel Aznar, of the «Tecnopesca» Club. José Martínez López, won the trophy for the greater part with a 421 grams herrera. The total catch reached by all of the participants was 732 pieces, which yielded a total weight of 46 kilograms.
Club of fishing port of Mazarrón, organizing body of this competition which has been sponsored by the City Council of Mazarrón, presented in addition to all attendees with a magnificent barbecue. The sporting event ended with a raffle of gifts and the delivery of two gifts by the club to the departments of sports and fishing of the consistory, represented by the Mayor Andrés Valera and Councillor Magdalena Mendez.

Rafael Solís Pardo se adjudicó la VIII edición del Open Nacional de Pesca «Bahía de Mazarrón» celebrado la tarde-noche del pasado sábado en las playas de Bolnuevo y El Castellar de Puerto de Mazarrón. El Open se desarrolló tal y como estaba previsto, bajo una noche perfecta para la pesca, y con 82 pescadores en liza que disfrutaron de la prueba.
Las especies más capturadas fueron herreras y bogas, siendo la primera especie la que mas predominó en la playa del Castellar y las bogas la especie que más entretuvo a los pescadores en la playa de Bolnuevo. El campeón, Rafael Solís, quien es componente del Club de Pesca “Barbo”, logró un total de 58 capturas que le auparon a lo más alto del podio. En la entrega de premios estuvo presente el concejal de Deportes del Ayuntamiento, Andrés Valera.
Su compañero de club, Andrés Jara Muñoz, se clasificó en segundo lugar, mientras que la tercera plaza de la general fue para José Ángel Aznar, del Club “Tecnopesca”. El trofeo a la pieza mayor lo consiguió José Martínez López, con una herrera de 421 gramos. El total de capturas alcanzado por la totalidad de los participantes fue de 732 piezas, que arrojaron un peso total de 46 kilogramos.
El Club de Pesca Puerto de Mazarrón, entidad organizadora de esta competición que ha sido patrocinada por el Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón, obsequió además a todos los asistentes con una magnifica barbacoa. La cita deportiva finalizó con una rifa de regalos y con la entrega de dos obsequios por parte del club a las concejalías de Deportes y Pesca del consistorio, representadas por el edil Andrés Valera y la concejala Magdalena Méndez.
