El consistorio ha tenido que cortar diversos árboles para salvaguardar la seguridad de los alumnos y los vecinos
La concejalía de Servicios y Logística del Ayuntamiento de Mazarrón ha procedido a quitar varios árboles del colegio Francisco Caparrós que suponían un riesgo para los alumnos y para los viandantes debido a que estaban afectando al muro del colegio, el cual podría haber cedido en cualquier momento. De hecho, el muro presentó importantes desperfectos en la mañana del miércoles. En ese momento, el edil de Servicios y Logística, Juan Miguel Muñoz, se puso en contacto con los responsables de la consejería de Educación que le instaron a que llevase a cabo las actuaciones que fuesen necesarias para salvaguardar la seguridad de los alumnos.
“Para nosotros no es nada agradable tener que cortar los árboles, pero hemos hecho lo que creemos que es necesario para salvaguardar la seguridad de los niños y niñas, así como de los vecinos”. Muñoz se había puesto en contacto en varias ocasiones con la consejería de Educación para informarles del estado del muro del colegio que se iba deteriorando con el paso de los días. “Todo parece indicar que ha sido el incesante viento de las últimas semanas el responsable de que los árboles hayan ido, poco a poco, haciendo ceder el muro empujados por el viento”.
El edil ha comentado que “así lo explica un informe del área de Urbanismo en el que nos hemos basado para tomar esta decisión que nos ha resultado difícil, pero que antes o después habría que haber acometido porque el muro va a tener que ser reconstruido en gran parte y los árboles no habrían aguantado sin el tope del muro”. Estas obras serán acometidas, en primera instancia, por el Ayuntamiento. El Alcalde del municipio, Ginés Campillo, ha expresado su deseo de que “la consejería de Educación entienda que esto no es mantenimiento de las instalaciones del colegio sino una obra en toda regla y que, por tanto, se debe hacer cargo de la financiación de la misma”.
